I was born and raised in Washington D.C. I am
now studying, working, and breathing in Chicago,
IL. I’m pursuing two degrees, in both Industrial
Design and Graphic Design, at the University of
Illinois at Chicago.
I love riding and working on bikes, problem
solving, making things with my hands, and
excellent coffee.
I’m thrilled to have found out about industrial
design because it combines my interest in
applied aesthetics, my fascination in exploring
materials and making cool stuff, and my desire to
use creative thinking to make the world a better
place.
I see design as being more than a way to make
something look nice, or to make it more efficient
in a specific manner. Instead, I believe design is
a creative way of thinking, or a thought process
that can be utilized to solve any given problem.
Of course, form and function have everything to do
with designing, however, I see them as the means,
and not the end of the designer’s task.
I am currently in a period of focusing on improving
my technical abilities and expanding the scope
of my design philosophies. One day I hope to
use design thinking to explore solutions to global
humanitarian problems, primarily addressing our
excessive trash production, exploring alternative
energy opportunities, and improving the spread of
accurate unbiased information.
